What you'd actually do

  1. Obtain all necessary information to perform job assignments and report discrepancies or issues to appropriate personnel
  2. Plan, lay out, assemble, wire, solder, repair, and maintain electrical/electronic, mechanical, antenna, and trailer systems
  3. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings to perform point-to-point assembly
  4. Assemble and disassemble production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to manufacturing, engineering, and quality specifications
  5. Perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables, and harnesses; install mechanical parts, components, and fasteners as specified

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent (GED) with 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical assembly and/or Circuit Card assembly
  • Experience reading and working from schematics and drawings to make initial layouts
  • Experience utilizing a broad range of hand tools, assembly equipment and safety equipment to perform tasks
  • Experience and ability to successfully complete basic solder certification, visual acuity test and in-house skills training
  • Experience working in tight spaces that require a high level of attention to detail and uncompromised quality
  • Experience and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Experience lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs
  • Ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions
  • Experience and willingness to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when required to meet program deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship required
