Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for creating mechanical or electromechanical designs for new or existing products using 3D solid modeling tools and analysis. The role involves designing parts, tooling, and system solutions, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring designs meet program delivery targets.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies through 2D drawings, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  2. Collaborate with Engineers to capture design intent and produce concepts and designs that meet all product requirements for both new and existing products.
  3. Communicate project updates, achievements, research, and status with the direct team and supervisor.
  4. Lead and participate in program meetings and design reviews as required.
  5. Apply GD&T and established design standards to produce highly accurate models, drawings, bills of materials, and related product specifications for successful product release and transfer to manufacturing.

Skills

Required

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, CAD Modeling/Drafting, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to design conceptual models by using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software and perform design analysis.
  • Proficiency with Mechanical CAD software (e.g. Creo/Pro-E, SolidWorks).
  • 3+ years of relevant design experience.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs and tasks.
