Mechanical Engineer

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Secaucus, NJ · Engineering

Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, analysis, and validation of advanced hardware platforms for high-performance computing, data center, and client systems. This includes developing mechanical components, performing FEA and structural analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Experience with CAD tools, FEA software, and electronics packaging is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD tools (Creo preferred, SolidWorks acceptable)
  2. Create and maintain detailed 2D drawings, GD&T, and engineering documentation in accordance with AMD and industry standards
  3. Perform structural and vibration analyses using FEA tools such as Abaqus and/or ANSYS to assess mechanical integrity and product reliability
  4. Support design trade studies, tolerance analysis, and material selection to meet product requirements
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle
