Mechanical Engineer role focused on the design, development, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for AI data centers. The role involves analytical modeling, design review, construction oversight, and vendor management, with a focus on ensuring efficient and sustainable operations for AI workloads.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop analytical models for water and energy consumption
  2. Review and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
  3. Monitor the installation of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  4. Analyze test data and identify areas for optimization.
  5. Assist in the management of vendor relationships.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical systems design and construction, preferably in data centers or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.
  • Experience with data center specific mechanical systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Experience with modular construction.
