Mechanical Engineer: Battery Design

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Redmond, WA

Mechanical Engineer focused on battery design for humanoid robots, involving design, testing, and production scaling. The role requires experience in lightweight battery packs, thermal management, and performance testing, with a focus on bringing designs from concept to product release within a high-ambiguity environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and integration of AI tools for workflow optimization are also key aspects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Mechanical engineering and packaging for lightweight, swappable battery technology.
  2. Reliability, safety, and weight are critical requirements
  3. Planning and executing on performance, validation, endurance, and life cycle testing
  4. Troubleshooting root-cause of mechanical failures, implementing improved designs, testing effectiveness of change
  5. Lead CM’s and Scaling partners paving the way for high volume production when projects mature
