Mechanical Engineer, High Speed Missiles

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Air Dominance & Strike : Air Dominance & Strike Hardware : Mechanical Systems

Mechanical Engineer role focused on designing and integrating hardware for high-speed missile platforms within a defense technology company. The role involves the full development lifecycle from concept to flight test, applying physics principles, and working with manufacturing methods. While the company uses AI in its operating system, this specific role is not directly building or researching AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and integrate hardware for high-speed air vehicles.
  2. Own full design lifecycles, from initial concept to real-world deployment.
  3. Apply first principles of physics to guide all decisions and design processes.
  4. Lead design reviews, conduct analyses, visit vendors, and define and execute hardware test plans.
  5. Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.

Skills

Required
