Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing modular integrated electronics buildings and power distribution equipment, focusing on fabrication drawings, code compliance, and manufacturing efficiency. This role supports an AI infrastructure company by ensuring the physical infrastructure is designed and documented accurately.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment.
  2. Develop specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents with a high standard for accuracy.
  3. Deliver accurate and timely shop drawings, product submittals, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and as-built drawings, ensuring traceability across projects.
  4. Ensure product designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards.
  5. Participate in model reviews and drawing checks as part of the engineering design release process to ensure quality and design accuracy.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline
  • 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design
  • Advanced proficiency with 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Strong knowledge of metals and materials used for fabrication
  • Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings
  • Ability to solve engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach
  • Meticulous commitment to detail

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience using Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) software
  • Experience with simulation and analysis software, such as FEA or FDM
