What you'd actually do

  1. Own designs from concept to certification, including:
  2. Rapid prototyping and development testing
  3. Mass optimization, stress analysis, and thermal analysis
  4. Troubleshooting issues in manufacturing, testing, and in the field
  5. Driving system safety, reliability, requirements, and integration considerations
  6. Designing for manufacturability and cost at the component and assembly levels
  7. Communicate design risks, complex concepts, and data clearly and honestly
  8. Collaborate effectively and with humility across multiple areas of expertise

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 3-5+ years of relevant industry experience, depending on education
  • Proficiency with CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) for complex surfacing, part design, and assemblies
  • Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, heat transfer, and materials science

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with DO-160G mechanical requirements for aerospace applications
  • Familiarity with both low-voltage and high-voltage electromechanical designs
  • Experience with finite element analysis (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, SolidWorks)
