Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Structures at Carbon Robotics, focusing on designing, analyzing, prototyping, producing, and supporting new vehicle structures for robotic systems. The role involves working on a multi-disciplinary team, defining requirements for structural qualification testing, leading initial production builds, and owning Standards and Compliance documentation. Requires 5+ years of experience in mechanical/structural design, proficiency in CAD/CAE tools, and experience with various material types and harsh environment design. Experience with automotive, agricultural, or aerospace markets is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own significant elements of the architecture, design, analysis, testing, and support of the robotic vehicles primary structures, aesthetic body panels, and suspension/steering system integration.
  2. Define requirements for, support, and at times lead structural qualification testing.
  3. Lead initial production builds with the manufacturing team at our Richland, Washington facility.
  4. Own Standards and Compliance scoping and documentation for the products you design.
  5. Work on a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team to ensure the successful development, deployment, and sustainment of multiple revolutionary robotics products.
