Mechanical Engineering Manager 2 role at Northrop Grumman supporting the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or 6 years of related experience with Master's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
  • Proficiency with mechanical engineering design and CAD tools like Siemens NX
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools i.e. Siemens Teamcenter PLM
  • Experience leading projects and managing cross functional teams, budgets, and schedules
  • Proficiency in driving programmatic battle rhythm.
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills
  • Experience identifying and tracking program risks and opportunities
  • Experience with the manufacturing of electronic systems
  • Experience with the design of Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for military applications

Nice to have

  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against cost and schedule.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Agile or Six Sigma Tools.
  • Experience with specific tools available for Subcontract management associated with the terms and conditions of the Subcontract (Award Fee/incentive fee flow downs, supplier assessment/evaluation, Corrective Action Requests, Letters of Concern, etc.)
  • Experience in early design phases, to include conceptual studies, analysis of alternatives, feasibility studies, or preliminary system-level design
  • Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, development and adherence to master plans and schedules, budget tracking, risk and opportunity management)
  • Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements/expectations
  • Financial experience in EVMS or similar cost and schedule management system.
  • Experience with the application of Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) controls for high reliability military applications
