Mechanical Lab Intern at Caterpillar's Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) to document repair processes, aid in developing and validating disassembly/assembly procedures, and learn about tooling, equipment, and shop safety. The goal is to build interest in Heavy Equipment Technician careers and develop technical/workplace skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. document repair processes for all Caterpillar equipment
  2. create repair procedures that show Dealer Technicians how to complete repairs in a safe, efficient manner
  3. aid in the development and validation of the disassembly and assembly procedures
  4. learn tooling, machine identification, diesel engine history, crane operation, along with shop safety, and much more

Skills

Required

  • Incoming seniors attending HS
  • Expected Graduation Date of May/June 2027
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3/4.0
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Good time management
  • Willing to learn and be flexible on the job

  • Able to follow documented procedures for standard work and perform work safely and without defects
  • Mechanical aptitude
