What you'd actually do

  1. Staff and budget planning, as well as implementing best practices in program management
  2. Develop and execute business plans, policies, and procedures while formulating organizational and technical strategies
  3. Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers, and spearhead process improvements
  4. Build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports will be essential
  5. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes, while managing, developing, and motivating employees

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry
  • 1+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • 1+ years of experience in using project management methodologies, including developing project plans, performance management, and managing issues and risks
  • Experience managing projects and initiatives through to their completion/implementation hand-off point
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of experience leading aerospace design engineering teams and integrating within a global supply base and product value streams
  • 3+ years of experience with Boeing Commercial Airplanes
  • 787 Airframe Experience
  • Experience with commercial aircraft certification processes and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement
