What you'd actually do

  1. Work with multi-discipline teams to develop mechanical subsystem and payload integration product definition including layouts, detail part definition, and installation datasets.
  2. Perform trade studies to identify and evaluate multiple potential design and build options.
  3. Support part fabrication and procurement, and on-vehicle installation and test.
  4. Work with suppliers to define, develop and qualify mechanical, thermal and propulsion system components.
  5. Develop engineering dispositions to hardware non-conformances and anomalies.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages – UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
  • active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Nice to have

  • Strong communication skills to interface with different program and customer teams
  • Proficiency with UG/NX CAD system and Teamcenter PDM, or equivalent
  • Experience providing design support for part fabrication or procurement, and on-vehicle installation
