ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Media Workflow Engineer at Peloton, you will serve as the technical foundation for our post-production and broadcast ecosystems. This role is a 50/50 blend of high-impact project delivery and mission-critical operational support. You will act as the lead architect for our Media Asset Management (MAM) and workflow platforms, ensuring our content engine runs at peak performance in a dynamic, global broadcast environment.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Own the maintenance of our MAM (Backlight Iconik) and shared storage infrastructures (OpenDrives, Quantum)
- Design, build, and optimize automated workflows on premises and on cloud based workflows. Transcoding pipelines using Telestream Vantage, Hiscale FLICS, and GLIM
- Serve as the primary technical lead for metadata taxonomy, video codecs, and delivery specifications, ensuring seamless integration across software and cloud engineering teams
- Provide expert-level support for Mac, Linux, and Windows server environments while maintaining high-fidelity technical documentation for our evolving architecture
- Collaborate with Post-Production and Broadcast teams to translate creative needs into robust technical solutions, from cloud-based archiving to infrastructure upgrades
- As a crucial member of our agile team, you will assist with Proof of Concept (PoC) testing of new technologies. You will investigate emerging tools to support RFPs, ensuring you have a strong voice and meaningful influence on the direction of our systems and workflow tech stack
- Act as the primary technical liaison for third-party vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize mission-critical software and hardware, ensuring our systems remain resilient and up to date
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 7+ years of experience in high-volume broadcast or post-production environments with a deep proficiency in MAM systems (Iconik preferred)
- Strong command of shared storage, workflow consultation, and transcoding standards (FFMPEG, Vantage), coupled with a solid understanding of cloud-based media workflows (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Fluency in emerging AI technologies and an understanding of how they can be leveraged to automate and optimize broadcast engineering workflows is highly desired
- Proficiency in multi-OS administration and basic scripting (Python, JSON) to automate repetitive tasks and integrate complex systems via CLI
- A proactive mindset capable of balancing long-term project planning with the immediate demands of a live production environment
- The ability to bridge the gap between technical complexity and creative execution, communicating clearly with both engineers and stakeholders

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including, without limitation, experience and business objectives and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range
$121,231—$145,475 USD
