What you'd actually do

  1. As a Medical Assistant at MinuteClinic, you’ll be on the front lines of care—making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives every day.
  2. You will perform tasks such as patient registration and intake by accurately document patient medical history—including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history—using electronic health records, wait room management, and other responsibilities to enhance the patient experience.
  3. Additionally, you will develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
  4. Your clinical responsibilities will include evaluating complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses; applying advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature; performing routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well-being; conducting medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.
  5. You will manage patient access to healthcare and connect individuals with community resources for medication administration, self-care techniques, and disease management.

Skills

Required

  • Full, active and unrestricted license(s) in the State for which MA provides services
  • Active BLS Certification to administer Basic Life Support (BLS) and other Life Saving Measures
  • Documentation of care

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care or Emergency Room
  • Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system such as Epic
  • Previous phlebotomy, vaccine administration and point-of-care experience
  • Previous experience with patient registration
  • Experience working in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics among staff and patients
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information ethically and responsibly
