Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison Oncology (m/f/d) in Zug, Switzerland. This field-based role requires a scientific expert in Genitourinary (GU) cancer and NSCLC to build connections with healthcare professionals, deliver scientific information, support medical education, and gather strategic insights. The position involves an active field plan and customer-facing interactions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as resource for HCP relevant scientific information and emerging scientific trends within therapeutic area, with demonstration of continuously updated knowledge in these key areas to ensure the most up-to-date information is integrated into field activities, supporting evidence-based discussions with key stakeholders.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for external experts and medical societies, fostering long-term, trust-based relationships that enhance the company’s scientific presence and reputation within the oncology community.
  3. Collect, document, and relay valuable medical insights and unmet needs from the field to internal teams, ensuring these perspectives inform the development of strategies, tactics, and educational initiatives.
  4. Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of medical education programs, symposia, and workshops, ensuring content is scientifically robust and tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals and patient advocacy groups.
  5. Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute medical expertise to align field activities with broader business objectives, collaborating closely with commercial, regulatory, and clinical operations teams.

Skills

Required

  • Scientific degree: Medical Doctor, Pharmaceutical or Natural Science university degree (with MD/PhD being an additional asset)
  • Fluent proficiency in German and English, working proficiency in French as an additional advantage
  • Experience in oncology and/or medical affairs
  • Understanding of scientific research, clinical trial design/conduct and interpretation of medical/scientific data (scientific acumen)
  • Ability to work with clinical & scientific data in order to translate and communicate these into relevant information for the clinical practice of the HCP and patients (clinical acumen)
  • Effective collaboration and strong networking skills, ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective communicator with strong influencing skills and ability to discuss data with HCPs on a peer-to-peer level
  • High learning agility and open mindset for change

Nice to have

  • Pre-existing knowledge in oncology and pharma industry / medical affairs or health care environment is considered an advantage
