Modal is seeking a strong engineer with experience building developer tools, specifically Python libraries, to enhance developer productivity for AI teams. The role involves working on infrastructure for AI workloads, including model training, batch jobs, and inference serving.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain the Python SDK for Modal, enabling users to easily access GPU compute and run AI workloads.
  2. Collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive and ergonomic developer experiences.
  3. Work directly with users to understand their needs and help them solve problems.
  4. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of our services.
  5. Contribute to the open-source community around Modal's tools.
