Memory Validation Manager

Seeking a Senior PC Memory Module and Storage Validation Engineer to lead validation and qualification for next-generation memory and storage solutions in PC and IoT platforms. Responsibilities include leading validation activities, debugging system-level failures, characterizing performance, developing automation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing contractor engineers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead validation activities for PC memory modules (DIMM, SO-DIMM, LPDDR, LPCAMM2) and storage devices (NVMe, M.2 UFS or SD express SSDs).
  2. Investigate system-level failures including boot issues, data corruption, performance degradation, and interoperability problems.
  3. Analyze memory bandwidth, latency, and storage throughput/IOPS performance.
  4. Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and validation scripts (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
  5. Lead and manage several contractor engineers to perform the responsibilities for sections 1 to 6 above.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware validation, preferably in memory and storage subsystems.
  • Strong knowledge of DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR/LPCAMM2 memory architectures
  • Strong knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, M.2 UFS or SD express protocols
  • Strong knowledge of BIOS/UEFI and system firmware interactions
  • Experience with validation tools (e.g., MemTest, Iometer, FIO, Intel VROC tools)
  • Experience with debugging hardware interfaces and signal integrity issues
  • Experience with scripting/programming (Python, PowerShell, C/C++, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of PC system architecture and platform bring-up.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of memory and storage technologies and validation process.
  • Experience in memory and storage validations.
  • Familiar or have connections to memory and storage vendors.
  • Experience working with OEM/ODM platforms and large-scale validation environments.
  • Familiarity with Intel platform validation processes.
  • Knowledge of power management, thermals, and signal integrity concepts.
  • Experience with machine learning or data analytics for validation optimization.
