You will work closely with operations leaders, plant managers, and IT teams to design and implement solutions that enhance production efficiency, quality, visibility, and traceability across the manufacturing value chain.
**Roles and Responsibilities **
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Functional Consultant with strong shop floor and operations expertise to support digital transformation initiatives across industrial clients. This role emphasizes deep understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and performance improvement, with manufacturing execution system (MES) and related technologies serving as key tools to enable those outcomes.
Practitioners will participate in supply chain and manufacturing process transformation working in teams to identify business requirements, to draft functional designs and specifications, to write and perform test scripts & plans, to support technical development analysts, and to conduct overarching program management activities.
Support data-driven decision-making through dashboards and insights
Contribute to overall project delivery, timelines, and client communication
Translate manufacturing needs into clear business and functional requirements
Collaborate with technical resources to translate functional requirements to techno-functional specifications
Define use cases such as work order execution, electronic batch records, genealogy/traceability, material movements, and constraint & non-conformance management
Support supply chain and shop floor transformation initiatives, including digitization and operational excellence programs
Define supply chain and production operations key performance indicators
Collaborate with technical teams on system configuration and integration with PLM, ERP, & MES, automation systems, and data platforms
Ensure alignment between business processes and system capabilities
Participate in testing, deployment, and hypercare activities
Support shoulder-to-shoulder change management, user adoption, and training
**Required Qualifications **
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, process improvement, or consulting
Experience in end-to-end manufacturing processes (production, quality, maintenance, inventory)
2+ years of experience in supply chain processes (sourcing & procurement, logistics, material handling & movement)
2+ years of experience working in or with plant environments (discrete or process manufacturing)
Team lead experience
Aerospace & Defense experience
Ability to travel up to 50%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
**Preferred Qualifications **
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
Exposure to MES platforms (e.g., Opcenter, Apriso, AVEVA, FactoryTalk)
Experience with Industry 4.0, IoT, or smart factory initiatives
Experience structuring and guiding work for junior staff
Proven ability to drive process improvement and operational transformation initiatives
Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools, including MES or shop floor systems
Experience using Microsoft Project, JIRA or other Agile and Project Management tools
Experience in data analytics and reporting
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,900 – $208,250
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
