Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer to support Environmental Test Design Engineering team. Designs electrical interfaces/connections and supports fabrication/installation of test articles and fixtures. Focus on St. Louis Environmental Lab testing for local Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) programs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Development of electrical design criteria from customer test objectives/requirements
  2. Design and documentation of electrical systems, components, connections, and interfaces
  3. Outline electrical wiring required to adapt to test articles & subassemblies
  4. Support of lab or flight test instrumentation and data acquisition
  5. Selection of electrical hardware (cables, connectors, shielding, terminal blocks, etc.)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • electronic/electrical systems or subsystems and components
  • system integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • creating electrical schematics using computer aided design tools

Nice to have

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic/electrical systems design
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical components such as cable harnesses, circuit configuration, and/or schematics, etc.
  • 1+ years of experience in test and evaluation
  • Experience with a broad range of power, signal, and instrumentation hardware used in test
  • Experience with test hardware control and troubleshooting
  • Experience with wire shop fabrication capabilities including inspection & check-out
  • Familiarity with test software platforms, like NI LabVIEW, and their hardware interfaces
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Mentor Graphics, or Microsoft VISIO
  • Clear technical writing and ability to coordinate with mechanical, systems, and test teams
