Mid-level Manager Satellite Mission Support

Boeing is seeking a Mid-Level Manager for Satellite Mission Support to lead a team of engineers responsible for quality operational support and sustainment services for satellite programs. The role involves managing teams, developing strategies for engineering excellence, monitoring customer assets, investigating anomalies, and improving operations. This is a 100% onsite position requiring a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and significant experience in space/satellite systems and operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops and manages the people, operations products, processes and tools necessary to execute integrated customer focused strategies that deliver improved performance for customers assets
  2. Manages, develops and motivates employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of customer asset monitoring, anomaly investigations and operations improvements to a wide range of customer assets
  3. Engages with satellite customers and operators to ensure Boeing provides excellent technical support and to solicit feedback on the performance of the fleet
  4. Promulgate engineering best practices and efficiencies across the business that will deliver containment, proactive and preventative solutions to customers’ operations and assets.
  5. Provides feedback on product performance to enhance future spacecraft design by actively monitoring data and working with program teams and new business

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience in Space/Satellite systems.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Real-time Satellite or Space Systems Operations.
  • 5+ years of experience with propulsion GNC, Avionics design/integration.
  • 3+ years of experience interacting directly with external customers.
  • Ability to obtain a Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required).

Nice to have

  • Current Tier 5 security investigation or active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong Communication, Adaptability, Decision Making, Customer Focus, Integrated Systems, Engineering Analysis, and Requirements/Tracing skillset
  • Strong background in several of the following areas: satellite mission operations including CONOPS development, astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, analysis and simulation, spacecraft dynamics, or mission systems engineer roles, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
