What you'd actually do

  1. Designs new special test equipment (STE) for production testing tactical aircraft
  2. Provides fabrication shop with design for manufacturing/assembly solutions for STE
  3. Designs Additive Manufacturing solutions and innovations for cost & quality benefits
  4. Collaborates with electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and shop fabricators
  5. Supports resolution of STE design issues to meet high technical and quality standards

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 3+ years experience with parametric 3D CAD design (Solidworks, CATIA, AutoCAD, Rhino, and/or NX)
  • 3+ years experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems
  • Aerospace related experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures, or experience during a project at school or during an internship
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with air vehicle subsystems, and avionics subsystems
  • Familiarity with supporting aerospace manufacturing build verification test operations
  • Experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems and components
  • Experience in development programs (integration, test phases), production support, or sustainment engineering
