This role focuses on safety hazard analysis for aircraft hardware and software design across production, modification, and operational phases. It involves identifying and proposing solutions for safety hazards to ensure product safety and mission success, with senior members investigating in-service fleet safety issues. Experience in aircraft maintenance and production operations is desired.

What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in research and analysis to identify potential or investigate reported production aircraft hazards, risks, and safety concerns such as Supplier Notice of Escapement (NOEs), Non-Conformance Report (NCR), Line stock checks and aircraft incident/damage report
  2. Supports identifying safety and mission assurance issues systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using industry best practices
  3. Contributes by documenting safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards
  4. Supports creating and maintaining safety and corrective action plans

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

Nice to have

  • Experience in USAF / US Military Maintenance
  • Experience working with safety analyses such as Risk Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), etc.
  • Full-time aerospace industry experience with Flight Controls, Flight Controls software, or Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems
  • Experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions
  • Experience with Military standards such as MIL-STD-1388-2B, S1000D, GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-PRF-5041
