Mid-level Quality Systems Specialist

This role focuses on quality systems within the aerospace defense sector, involving review and validation of product non-conformances, analysis of product quality, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. It requires experience in Quality Management Systems, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. The role is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  2. Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
  3. Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
  4. Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System.
  5. Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.

Skills

Required

  • 1+ year of experience in Quality Management System (QMS)
  • 1+ year of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA)
  • 3+ years of experience leading improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ year of experience in aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing multi-functional teams in Quality or continuous improvement initiatives
  • 1+ years of experience with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Instruction 8210.1
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to cross collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative
