Mission Architect (remote Sensing) - Millennium Space Systems

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · El Segundo, CA

This role focuses on mission architecture and spacecraft/constellation design for remote sensing missions, specifically in Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) for national security. It involves defining requirements, leading modeling and simulation efforts, developing CONOPS, architecting Mission Data Processing (MDP) algorithms, and overseeing mission budgets and sensor performance. The role requires expertise in EO/IR sensors and a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define architecture and system requirements for OPIR missions
  2. Lead modeling and simulation efforts to assess system performance
  3. Develop CONOPS at the spacecraft, constellation, and mission level
  4. Architect and implement Mission Data Processing (MDP) algorithms (onboard and ground-based)
  5. Oversee mission level budgets and KPPs (e.g. LOS knowledge, jitter/smear, optical transmission, latency, etc.)
