Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mission Assurance Director 1 to lead Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) efforts for a classified program. This role involves technical oversight, ensuring compliance with requirements, managing risks, developing training strategies, and driving process improvements for NDI inspectors and suppliers. The position requires experience in aircraft/aerospace manufacturing, NDI/quality, and management, with a strong emphasis on leadership and process implementation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as Program NDI Chair with technical oversight across all program build sites and suppliers. Decision authority at NDI Requirements Review Board with a responsibility to coordinate through program Technical Review Board (TRB) and change process as required.
  2. Coordination with Chief Engineer’s Office, Structural Integrity and Vehicle Engineering to ensure alignment between requirements and inspection capabilities
  3. Ensure inspection methods across internal and supplier build sites are compliant to industry and program requirements. Identify and resolve any variances
  4. Accelerate current risk burndown and future improvement efforts through effective prioritization of resources across functions and sites
  5. Deploy a consistent training strategy and curriculum for NDI inspectors with emphasis on program unique and critical inspections. Drive comparable approach at suppliers.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience OR Master's degree and 8 years of related experience
  • Experience with Composite design, fabrication and Inspection
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a manager
  • Active DoD Clearance (secret or higher)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Nice to have

  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Current or past certification in UT Inspection. Use of multiple equipment types, software versions
  • Ability to interpret composite design
  • Knowledge of composite fabrication process
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing, communicating, and instituting new processes
  • Familiarity with industry NDI requirements and NG processes
