Northrop Grumman is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program. This role involves contributing to modeling and simulation products for the design and development of GWS capabilities for the Missile Defense Agency. The position requires proficiency in C, C++, or JAVA, experience with software development principles, and debugging complex systems. A Secret security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. providing technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  2. Experience developing modeling and simulation software
  3. Experience debugging complex software systems
  4. Familiarity with MBSE requirements derivation
  5. Experience optimizing runtime performance of algorithms or models and simulations (C++ is a bonus)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in strongly typed languages such as C, C++, or JAVA
  • Experience with other software languages such as ADA or Python
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite and software version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket
  • Experience developing software using Object Oriented Design or SOLID principles
  • Experience developing modeling and simulation software
  • Experience debugging complex software systems
  • Familiarity with MBSE requirements derivation
  • Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience developing software for iTEx
  • Experience working with OSF (Objective Simulation Framework) and GTISS (Ground Test Integrated System Simulation)
  • Experience optimizing runtime performance of algorithms or models and simulations (C++ is a bonus)
  • Experience profiling multithreaded or distributed systems
  • Experience working with the Boost thread library
  • Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, and scalable/efficient software design
