Modeling & Simulation Internship

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Emerado, ND +1 · Intern/Casual

Internship role focused on research in Modeling & Simulation and Digital Twin techniques, with potential applications of AI/ML, within the aerospace and defense sector. The role involves surveying existing work, collecting specifications, developing Python automation scripts, documenting findings, and creating a "playbook" for future implementations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Survey Modeling & Simulation and Digital Twin work across NG and assess/down-select an achievable, impactful set of techniques for the remainder of the internship with a business case relevant to NGAS.
  2. Collect specification information on the system(s) to be developed into a Digital Twin.
  3. Create a Python code to automate various aspects of the development process.
  4. Document findings, including key process insights and deliverable simulation data, models, and code, with recommendations for steps following internship completion.
  5. Develop a “playbook” for the NG team to implement similar Digital Twin systems in the future.
