Northrop Grumman is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer to develop and deliver high-fidelity threat modeling products for missile defense systems. This role involves capturing requirements, developing infrared signature models, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring verification and validation of deliverables. Experience with scripting and missile system characteristics is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Will gain experience with threat model phenomenology with focus on IR signatures.
  2. Will gain experience with IR signature predictions and simulation models
  3. Will work with the team to ensure completion of data production needs in support of MDA Ground Test Modeling and Simulation
  4. Will work in close coordination with TMC’s Software Engineers for support to ensure timely provision of tools needed in ITP production.
  5. Will work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the development of IRHB models for new systems and often updates to existing missile systems.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline
  • Experience with technical analysis of modeling and simulation of data sets
  • Familiarity with the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of missile systems
  • Familiarity with hard body heating of objects and their corresponding signature representation
  • Experience with Verification and Validation of modeling and simulation of signatures data
  • Experience with scripting/automation languages such as Python, Bash, or MATLAB
  • Secret security clearance
