Mp&l Manager

This role is a management position within Ford's Material, Planning & Logistics (MP&L) department, focusing on operational oversight, lean manufacturing principles, and ensuring efficient material flow for plant manufacturing processes. It involves managing teams, developing objectives, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational guidelines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provides high-level management of MP&L floor operations and Production Control (office support) department
  2. Coach and counsel lean manufacturing behaviors and instill discipline in MP&L processes
  3. Meet material handling guidelines and regulations
  4. Review and evaluate future plans for expansion and/or modification of the plant’s MP&L equipment, resources, and/or future facilities to determine the effect on MP&L operations
  5. Ensure proper salaried headcount and manpower is in place to support the business needs

Skills

Required

  • High school Degree or GED
  • 10+ years progressive manufacturing and/or material handling experience
  • Experience with high-level management of facility –wide material handling initiatives
  • Experience supervising salaried employees, including managers
  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly personnel, salaried personnel, plant management, staff operations, logistics carriers, and production suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage high-pressure situations when necessary
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Suite)
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in “One FORD” behaviors, including outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in or related to Material Handling, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Packing Engineering
  • Experience in scheduling, distribution, supply chain, inventory planning, bill of material, change control, new model launch, logistics, material handling line feed processes, nonproduction stores, material flow, FCSD, production and material management systems
