Boeing Defence UK is seeking an MRO Mechanical Technician to perform aircraft maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to technical data, contractual compliance, and quality standards. Responsibilities include executing maintenance, troubleshooting systems, and potentially mentoring apprentices, all within a regulated aviation environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Reporting to a Supervisor, this role primarily conducts assigned maintenance tasks. Must be capable of understanding, interpreting and implementing technical information and ensuring that work/tasks completed have been carried out in accordance with the Approved Technical Data and correctly certified in line with their authorisations.
  2. The role ideally requires technical skills and knowledge of maintenance practices and techniques. Will be responsible for executing aircraft maintenance activities to meet individual schedule milestones, controlling and sequencing individual workloads and ensuring acceptable work standards, first time quality and performance measures are met.
  3. Deliver aircraft maintenance under Boeing’s own MAA MRP Part 145 approval or under the approval of the MOD customer.
  4. Assembly, disassembly, modification or repair of aircraft systems/structures/electronics/components. Upgrading aerospace components to correct failures or implement changes.
  5. Perform routine troubleshooting of complex aircraft systems, such as pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical/electronic to isolate faults and repair faulty components IAW technical information published in authorised maintenance documents.

Required

  • Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

  • good communication skills
  • interpreting technical documents, drawings and associated publications
  • working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or trade training equivalent
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes applicable to the aviation environment (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH)
  • Experience in either commercial or defence
  • Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Be an effective team member
