Medical Science Liaison (MSL) within the Johnson & Johnson Medical Affairs Immunology team responsible for discussing products, providing scientific information and education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) on a peer-to-peer basis, and collaborating with clinical operations on R&D clinical trials and Real World Data studies. The role requires a scientific degree, proficiency in Dutch and English, and experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Therapeutic area scientific expert: serve as resource for scientific information, clinical research activity, healthcare landscape and emerging scientific trends within therapeutic area, with demonstration of continuously updated knowledge in these key areas
  2. Stakeholder management: be recognized by stakeholders as the single-point-of-contact at Johnson & Johnson and within the industry for scientific exchange (data generation, treatment paradigm, etcetera)
  3. Data generation activities: collaborate with clinical operations in feasibility, site selection, management and issue resolution for R&D clinical trials and Real World Data studies and projects
  4. Data dissemination activities: use digital technologies and new media to support medical education activities and proactive and reactive communication

Skills

Required

  • Scientific degree: medical doctor, pharmacist or degree in biomedical/scientific sciences (with MD/PhD being an additional asset)
  • Proficient in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry or equal proven experience
  • Understanding of scientific research, clinical trial design/conduct and clinical data
  • Strong communication skills for peer-to-peer discussion of data (e.g. study results)
  • Ability to translate data into relevant information for clinical practice and for patients
  • Strong collaborative skills, team player mentality with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to focus and prioritize when needed and driven by execution

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of dermatology and/or rheumatology
  • Established network in dermatology and/or rheumatology
  • Experience with scientific research and interpretation of clinical data
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • Customer-centric thinking which translates into tactical plans and problem-solving strategies
  • Deeper understanding of clinical practice and patient pathways
  • Understanding of hospital environment (e.g. financing mechanisms, decision-making governance and dynamics)
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate leadership, influencing skills
