Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Head for the East Region in Hematology. This field-based leadership role is responsible for leading the national MSL organization, providing scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal partners related to current and future Hematology products. The role involves setting and implementing organizational strategy, overseeing execution, coaching Field Directors and MSLs, and facilitating access to healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include developing engagement strategies with opinion leaders, collaborating with internal teams on research and collaboration strategies, building and developing the organization, understanding compound development plans and budgets, managing external alliances, and cultivating relationships with cross-functional leaders. The role also emphasizes an analytics-driven approach to field insights, integrating data and applying AI-enabled tools for decision-making.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development and execution of strategies for the engagement of opinion leaders (national, regional, and local) and community practitioners to support the Hematology organization.
  2. Collaborate with the Hematology Therapeutic Area Leads and work closely with GCO, R&D, and Global Medical partners to develop and execute field-based strategies to support the Hematology research and collaboration strategies.
  3. Responsible for building a qualified and diverse organization through providing Field Director coaching and support in the recruiting and hiring process.
  4. The MSL East Head is a member of disease area leadership teams (GMAT, DAS) and is responsible for understanding the compound development plans, organizational priorities and timelines, and budgeting and staffing models for business planning for each compound.
  5. Responsible for understanding, building and managing external alliance partners as they relate to field based medical affairs.
