This role is for a Maintenance Technician at Pratt & Whitney, responsible for performing routine preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, assisting with troubleshooting, maintaining fluid levels, cleaning, and documenting work in a CMMS. It requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with post-secondary education or experience in maintenance, basic mechanical and electrical skills, and familiarity with safety practices. Preferred qualifications include technical aptitude in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding/machining.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform routine tasks related to preventive and corrective maintenance, and servicing of machinery and equipment. Assist higher level technicians in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical services as required.
  2. Responsible to maintain fluid levels on machinery, change filters as needed, document and analyze fluid usage, operate and maintain fluids filtration equipment.
  3. Proactively perform basic equipment maintenance such as turnarounds, clean robot booths, remove swarf build up in machines, remove grinding grit and fragments from machines, empty and clean oil skimmers, clean and service parts washers, remove and replace de-ionized water bottles.
  4. Perform administrative maintenance tasks and associated paperwork, monitor fluids, filters, and consumable inventories.
  5. Document work in SAP maintenance management suite (CMMS) and properly utilize the shop floor Andon system.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED) w/ post-secondary education in maintenance, and/or 2-4 years of equivalent maintenance experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skill
  • Familiar with OSHA and general safety practices

Nice to have

  • Technical aptitude in mechanics, rigging, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, electrical, automation, and PLC/CNCs
  • Safely working on electrical systems up to 480V

  • MIG/ TIG Welding, fabrication, basic machining
  • Technical certifications or an associate’s degree in a maintenance related field
