Multi-line Assemblers X15 (afternoons)

This role is for a Multi-Line Assembler at Caterpillar, responsible for assembling parts and components for Building Construction Product (BCP) machines on production lines. The job involves operating hand/power tools, following standard work procedures, supporting planned/unplanned absences, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. It requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and instructions. The role is part of a mature industrial manufacturing process.

What you'd actually do

  1. Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area
  2. Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences
  3. Train/coach Assembly Technician’s/Apprentices to standard work instructions
  4. Operate BCP built machines where required
  5. Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work

Required

  • Demonstrable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy
  • Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal & organisation skills
  • The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures
  • Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivated
  • You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization
  • Willing to undertake required training/learning
  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern

Nice to have

  • Thorough working knowledge of the assembly duties and build experience
  • Experience shows ability to drive RCCA
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime)
