Salesforce is seeking a strategic, high-impact Public Sector Account Executive to lead their State Government business for the States of Kansas and Nebraska. This role is responsible for driving enterprise SaaS adoption and digital transformation across state agencies, working directly with leaders to modernize constituent services, improve operational efficiency, and enable data-driven government through the Salesforce Platform. The role involves owning the entire state government footprint, developing executive relationships, driving complex enterprise sales cycles, and helping state agencies deliver better outcomes for residents. Responsibilities include territory and account leadership, solution selling, enterprise sales execution, and territory management. The ideal candidate has enterprise SaaS or technology sales experience, proven success selling into State Government agencies, and experience navigating government procurement processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and execute the territory strategy for all State of Kansas and State of Nebraska executive branch agencies
  2. Identify, develop, and close new business while expanding existing Salesforce customer relationships
  3. Understand agency priorities and position Salesforce solutions across key state government use cases, including:
  4. Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from prospecting through close
  5. Partner with Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, and Industry Advisors

Skills

Required

  • 7–10+ years of enterprise SaaS or technology sales experience
  • Proven success selling into State Government agencies
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, long sales cycles (6–18+ months)
  • Experience navigating government procurement processes
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota
