Saronic Saronic · Defense · Austin, TX · Internships & Co-Ops

This internship focuses on supporting the design, analysis, and development of autonomous surface vessels, with responsibilities including hull form design, hydrodynamic calculations, CAD modeling, and assisting in the integration of autonomous systems. The role requires a student pursuing a degree in Naval Architecture or a related field and basic knowledge of naval architecture principles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist in the design, development, and analysis of vessel hull forms, structures, and systems for ASVs
  2. Conduct hydrodynamic and stability calculations, including resistance, propulsion, and maneuvering simulations
  3. Collaborate with senior engineers to perform CAD modeling, structural design, and weight management for vessel optimization
  4. Support the integration of autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs
  5. Assist in conducting model tests and validation in collaboration with engineers and programmers
