This role is for a Senior Network Administrator responsible for the installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of classified network infrastructure. It requires an active US Secret Security Clearance and involves working in proprietary program areas. The position focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of voice and data networks, including configuration and troubleshooting of network hardware and software.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  2. Work in developing technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc.
  3. Work with network management software platforms.
  4. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.
  5. Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, assist in developing documentation.

Skills

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
