Network Engineer

Network Engineer responsible for resolving and diagnosing computer server issues at scale, supporting cloud scale compute and storage environments, and troubleshooting hardware and Linux OS related issues. The role involves configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols, working within Meta's ticketing system, and assisting with data center operations and documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work to resolve and diagnose computer server issues at scale.
  2. Escalate issues and work with remote engineering teams.
  3. Work within rack lifecycle processes with a focus on helping build out and support cloud scale compute and storage environments.
  4. Work within Meta's ticketing system.
  5. Serve as first point of contact for break fix technicians.

Skills

Required

  • Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Cyber Forensics, Security or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or infrastructure-related occupation
  • Designing, deploying, and operating large scale networks
  • Configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP, HSRP)
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Multi-protocol BGP (MP-BGP)
  • Network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS)
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware
  • Physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against deadlines
  • Solving problems in a global team environment
