Network Engineer, Foundation and Support (edge/backbone Infrastructure Design)

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Denver, CO +1

Meta is seeking a Network Engineer to design and deliver network infrastructure solutions at scale for their global Edge/Backbone network and compute presence. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to develop requirements for space, power, cooling, and connectivity infrastructure in data centers and POPs, and managing project execution and delivery.

What you'd actually do

  1. Designs, reviews, and optimizes ICT (Information and Communications Technology) infrastructure including structured cabling, network hardware, and integrated communications systems for large-scale network deployments
  2. Develops and enforces Meta ICT design standards, best practices, and compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, BICSI)
  3. Manages global space, power, cooling, structured cabling, and other inside plant infrastructure delivery requirements to support Meta edge/backbone network deployments across owned and colocation facilities
  4. Engages in system level facility sizing of utilities, switchgear, UPS/DC power plant, PDUs, mechanical cooling, and Low Voltage power distribution
  5. Proactively engages with various data center colocation providers in evaluating their facilities and recommends corrective actions to meet Meta standard design requirements
