Network Engineer, Global Network Operations

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Fort Worth, TX

Meta is looking for a Network Engineer to manage and improve their global network operations, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability. The role involves incident response, change management, troubleshooting complex network issues, and collaborating with engineering teams. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of experience in large-scale network infrastructure, expertise in routing/switching protocols, and experience with network hardware. The role also requires experience integrating AI tools for workflow optimization and demonstrating ongoing AI skill development, adhering to ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead incident response efforts for complex network events affecting Meta's global backbone, edge, and data center infrastructure, coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams and vendors to drive rapid root cause analysis and resolution
  2. Identify and implement network changes to address security vulnerabilities, capacity constraints, and business continuity risks across production routing and switching infrastructure
  3. Analyze network fault trends, traffic patterns, and infrastructure capacity data to proactively detect systemic issues and prioritize remediation efforts before they impact service reliability
  4. Develop and refine operational processes, runbooks, and escalation procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across global network operations
  5. Collaborate with network design and engineering teams to provide operational feedback that informs future network architecture decisions and infrastructure deployments
