Network Engineer II

Network Engineer II role focused on AI Assisted Operations and intelligent automation for enterprise and data centre networks. Responsibilities include implementing network changes, LODO tasks, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining documentation, and driving the development of monitoring tools and automation. Key contributions will be in developing automation for LODO tasks and AIOps capabilities, including data ingestion, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis.

What you'd actually do

  1. Take ownership of day-to-day operational tasks for enterprise and data centre networks.
  2. Implement and validate network changes.
  3. Organise and implement periodic LODO tasks, including software upgrades, patching, failover testing, and network health audits.
  4. Monitor intake channels, responding as required.
  5. Troubleshoot connectivity issues, leading resolution for majority of issues.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years’ experience in network engineering, infrastructure, or a related technical role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certification such as Palo Alto Cybersecurity Practitioner, Arista ACE Level 2, Cisco CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or similar networking/cloud credentials.
  • Experience with network implementations or deployments into production (e.g., projects, internships, or professional roles).
  • Ability to configure enterprise-grade network hardware.
  • Good knowledge of routing and switching (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLANs, subnets, ACLs, NAT)
  • Good understanding of wireless networking, including RF planning and tuning.
  • Good understanding of physical and virtual networking concepts and how they interoperate.
  • Knowledge of public or hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with more than one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go).
  • Knowledge of NGFWs, Secure Web Gateways, Zero Trust Network Access (e.g., Palo Alto FWs, Zscaler ZIA/ZPA)
  • Ability to work independently and effectively to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Be prepared to participate in weekend on-call rotation.
  • Experience with cloud networking (VPCs, security groups, gateways, load balancers).
  • Knowledge of network observability tools and applications (e.g., NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, APIs, Datadog, Logic Monitor, Catchpoint).
  • Knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience in PKI Infrastructure/certificate lifecycle management.
  • Experience with post incident investigations.
