Network Engineer II (government)

Network Engineer II (Government) role at AT&T supporting the Intelligence Sector. Responsibilities include configuring and securing Cisco-based network infrastructure, managing servers, and deploying network components. Requires 10 years of experience, TS/SCI with Poly clearance, and DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide network administration support for development, deployment, and problem identification and remediation of the enterprise network environment.
  2. Designs, Constructs, tests and implements integrated network, hardware and software solutions, , and/or physical and logical communications networks for the organization.
  3. Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for service requests and trouble tickets to include Move, Add, and change requests for the enterprise transport.
  4. Must be able to write and execute detailed network implementations such as topology and rack elevation diagrams.
  5. Provides technical consulting on high level network designs, platform sizing, infrastructure system design and the application of new technologies.

Skills

Required

  • 10 years of experience (combination of work history and education)
  • TS/SCI with Poly clearance
  • DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 compliance
  • CCNA certification
  • DOD IAT Level II certification
  • Experience engineering, implementing, and maintaining geographically dispersed unclassified and classified networks supporting 1,000 or more users
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Software Defined Networking (Cisco technologies preferred)
  • Experience mentoring a team of junior network professionals
  • Ability to support limited instances of providing after-hours support for network administration, operations, and maintenance problems.

Nice to have

  • 15 years’ experience engineering, implementing, and maintaining geographically dispersed unclassified and classified networks supporting 1,000 or more users.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols OSPF and BGP, IPSEC tunnels, and security zoning on interfaces
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining VMWare and Nutanix based virtual infrastructure
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst/ASA/ISR/XE, AWS, and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • CCNP Enterprise or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
  • Passed Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (300-415 ENSDWI) Exam.
