Network Engineer II role at Northrop Grumman supporting the C2BMC program, which is a key component of the Missile Defense System. What you'd actually do

  1. Will serve as a Network Development Engineer, supporting build-out and deployments to the operational environment as needed
  2. Will work within an Agile Scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements
  3. Will be a primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program
  4. Will be responsible for learning to plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network for operational sites and for helping where needed
  5. Will be responsible for traveling to remote locations to perform network installations, troubleshoot, and provide status updates to Program personnel

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience
  • current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.)
  • current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Proficient communicator with strong writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
  • Network design, development, and testing methodologies
  • OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols BGP and OSPF
  • Network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
  • Firewall knowledge in Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP network design
  • Multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimization, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment
