Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Engineer (Level 2 OR 3) to design, plan, and troubleshoot network communication systems in a LAN/WAN environment. Responsibilities include selecting hardware and software, evaluating new technologies, and maintaining expertise in network interconnections. Requires Security+ certification and an active TS/SCI with a full-scope polygraph.

What you'd actually do

  1. design and plan network communication systems and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
  2. troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment
  3. provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
  4. maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc
  5. evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

Skills

Required

  • Security+ certification
  • Active TS/SCI with an adjudicated full-scope polygraph
  • CISCO Router, Switches Hardware and Software Knowledge
  • Linux and Windows knowledge
  • Experience with designing additions to a large network

Nice to have

  • Firewall Hardware and Software Knowledge, administration, management and modifications
