Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Network Engineer III (NES) to support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The role involves implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining network devices (Cisco, Juniper), monitoring performance, implementing core networking technologies (VLANs, OSPF, BGP), troubleshooting incidents, and collaborating with IT teams. The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience (or equivalent), a current DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification, an active Secret security clearance, and CCNA or JNCIA certification. Experience with various networking protocols, firewalls, and multi-vendor equipment is essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Will support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure
  2. Ensuring reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments while collaborating with senior engineers on network design and optimization
  3. Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper Networks
  4. Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues with connectivity, latency, and packet loss
  5. Implement and support core networking technologies, including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and basic network security controls
