This role is for a Junior Network Engineer supporting federal government clients. Responsibilities include following standard operating procedures, providing support for network upgrade projects, replacing hardware components, troubleshooting end-user connectivity issues, maintaining network infrastructure, managing access, and updating system software. A TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required, along with an Associate's degree or equivalent experience and specific IT certifications (8570 / CWIP compliant with A+, Network+, or Security+). Technical skills include network device installation/configuration, basic networking concepts, and experience with ticketing systems. Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper is a plus. Physical requirements include lifting and working in tight spaces. The role also requires a valid driver's license.

What you'd actually do

  1. Consistently follow established procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and detailed documentation for all network activities.
  2. Provide hands-on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.
  3. Respond promptly to hardware failures by replacing networking components such as switches, routers, and access points as needed.
  4. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving end-user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional service.
  5. Participate in the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational needs.

Skills

Required

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

  • Two years of network engineering experience
