What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the execution of standard operating procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, including comprehensive use of ticketing systems and meticulous documentation practices.
  2. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for major network upgrade projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  3. Direct and perform the replacement of failed networking components (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) to maintain optimal network performance and minimize downtime.
  4. Oversee and participate in resolving advanced end-user connectivity needs, providing expert troubleshooting and guidance.
  5. Lead and support the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices, ensuring reliability and compliance with security policies.

Skills

Required

  • 8 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 4 additional years of network engineering experience
  • IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP)
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent certification or higher
  • Demonstrated experience with installation and configuration of network devices (firewalls, switches, routers, cabling)
  • Experience with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN architecture
  • Deep understanding of network access controls
  • Deep understanding of network security best practices
  • Skilled in network diagnostics
