Network Integration Engineering Manager (ne Iii) (government)

Manages a team of network engineers responsible for the delivery and implementation of network requirements within the constraints of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the contract statement of work. This role supports Intelligence and National Security customers within a secure federal environment, focusing on enterprise network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and cybersecurity infrastructure. The position requires technical management, leadership skills, and expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, with a strong emphasis on secure network designs aligning with DISA STIGs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leads and oversees Engineering workforce initiatives to maintain a resilience, effective, and mission-ready team within the area of responsibility.
  2. Manages daily operations and set performance objectives for the network engineering team.
  3. Ensures mapping of resources, activities, and manage as per timelines and budget constraints.
  4. Provides expert-level guidance for large scale enterprise network implementation standards and ongoing architectural network engineering transition, test, and evaluation activities.
  5. Facilitates cross-functional team collaboration and participate in the development and training of technical staff.

Skills

Required

  • 16 years of experience (combination of work history and education)
  • DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 compliance
  • Tier III or higher network operations and/or network design and implementation experience
  • Production network hardware and software configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper infrastructure
  • MPLS WANs and/or similar WAN protocols, network management tools, and firewalls experience
  • Implementing and troubleshooting standard routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Implementing and troubleshooting standard switching and trunking protocols (VLANs, 802.1q, port-channels)
  • 5 years of supervisory and/or management experience of network engineering or operations teams

Nice to have

  • Application of industry standards, developing configurations, and integration of solutions into production environments
  • Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols
  • Extensive BGP experience
  • Experience with cryptographic devices (KG-175s, KG-142s)
  • Experience establishing process, developing documents, and organizing repositories
