Boeing is seeking a Product Security Engineer with a background in networking and distributed systems research to join their Product Security Organization. The role involves conducting research in networking and cyber security, developing software for new concepts in tactical networks, sensor protocols, and network management, building and testing prototypes, and facilitating technology transition. The position requires experience with C, C++, Python, and shell scripting, as well as knowledge of networking protocols and systems. A Bachelor's degree and eligibility for a US Top Secret Security Clearance are required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a lead product security engineer for new concepts across tactical mobile ad-hoc network protocols, sensor protocols, airborne network overlays, or network management technologies
  2. Responsible for maturing the concepts and software to prove the feasibility of new network and cyber security technologies
  3. Responsible for building of secure prototypes to demonstrate the capability, and the test and evaluation of prototypes in relevant environments
  4. Drive software execution to deliver products on-cost and on-schedule to programs
  5. Responsible for software product security, safety, assurance, quality, and engineering excellence, including alignment with PSO policies, controls, and best practices

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
  • Eligibility for a US Top Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • 3+ years of network development experience (TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, HTTPS, REST interface)
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing software using Python, C/C++, C# and/or Java
  • 3+ years of experience with end-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis
  • 1+ years of experience with Linux Kernel architecture and key areas of implementation
